Over the weekend I took a trip down to Dallas to attend the AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday with a match-up between the Miami Hurricanes and the LSU Tigers. But before I saw the beat down the Tigers did on my Hurricanes, I took a tour of the Texas Motor Speedway. Keep in mind that I am not a racing fan but after touring this facility, I have more appreciation for the sport!

Located just 42 minutes northwest of Dallas, the speedway first broke ground in 1995. The very first race ever took place in 1997 and on the very first lap Darrell Waltrip, Dale Earnhardt, Kyle Petty, and Todd Bodine were among those involved in a wreck.

The reconfigured track measures 1.44 miles with banked 20-degree incline in turns 1 and 2 and banked 24-degrees in turns 3 and 4. The track also features "Big Hoss" TV, the world's largest HD TV screen. It measures 20,633.64 square feet and consists of 4.8 million pixels and 281 trillion colors.

So if you are planning on attending a race there you won't have to worry about paying to park because its free! The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series - AAA Texas 500 is set to take place on Sunday, November 4, 2018.
