WASHINGTON (AP) - One day after announcing a new rule regarding the use of tickets from postponed games, the Washington Nationals have reversed the policy.

The Nationals game against Detroit was rained out on Tuesday and a statement from the team indicated that game tickets would be good only for Thursday's 4:05 p.m. makeup. The statement added that, "No exchanges or refunds will be issued."

In previous seasons, Washington allowed fans with tickets to postponed games to exchange them for a future ticket, subject to availability, of equal or lesser value.

Following a day of complaints from fans, the Nationals released a statement reversing the policy, saying fans "will be guaranteed their same seats for Thursday's scheduled 4:05 p.m. makeup game, or will retain the option to exchange their tickets - as they have in the past - for any remaining regular or value home game during the 2013 season, subject to availability."
