BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Steve Spurrier isn't afraid to make a few jokes at LSU's expense.

The colorful coach of third-ranked South Carolina light-heartedly brushed aside questions about Tiger Stadium this week by pretending to be momentarily confused about the fact there are two Death Valleys, one at LSU and one at Clemson.

On Saturday night, Spurrier brings the best South Carolina team he's had to Baton Rouge to play the ninth-ranked Tigers.

The unbeaten Gamecocks look impressive on offense and defense, coming off a 35-7 victory last weekend over Georgia.

LSU is trying to rebound from its first loss of the season at Florida, a game in which the Tigers failed to score a touchdown.

Now LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger must contend with Gamecocks star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
