MANKATO, MN -- Fifth-ranked Minnesota State wore out Augustana and defeated the Vikings 4-0 on Friday afternoon.  Augustana falls to 4-5-2, 3-3-2 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play while the Mavericks improve to 9-1-1, 8-0 in NSIC action.

Minnesota State got on the board first with a goal from Caitlin Graboski.  A through ball snuck into the 18 yard box past the Viking defense and it was centered for Graboski to put away.

The Mavericks had total control of the first half taking 10 shots while holding Augustana to none.  Minnesota State also managed seven corner kicks to the Vikings' one in the first half.

In the 61st minute, a turnover in Augustana territory led to a Maverick goal putting Minnesota State up 2-0.  Just over one minute later, Brianne West launched a ball from 25 yards out which hit the cross bar and glanced into the net to put the Mavericks up 3-0.

Emily Moris stretched the lead to 4-0 when she rebounded her own shot and put it past Amanda Wagner on the second effort.

Wagner finished the day with four saves on eight opportunities and Maren Werth registered the Vikings' only shot on goal with a deep blast in the 77th minute that was corralled by the MSU keeper.

Augustana now travels to Concordia-St. Paul for a 1 p.m. game on Sunday.
