Off The Tee: 2017 British Open Recap

Going in the final round of the 2017 British Open, Jordan Spieth was sitting on a three-stroke lead over Matt Kuchar, with 18 holes to play.

At the end of the day Sunday, Spieth was hoisting the Claret Jug at Royal Birkdale, after finishing three strokes ahead of Kuchar on the final leader board.

If you didn’t see it, you might think Spieth coasted to his third major victory, but that was about as far from reality as you can get.

After bogeying three of the first four holes to give up the lead, Spieth regained his composure until a wild tee shot on 13 again put his title hopes in jeopardy.

But after one of the greatest recoveries in major golf history, he responded with a birdie-eagle-birdie-birdie finish to win his third major at age 23.
