Off the Tee: 2018 PGA Championship Recap

There have been years when the PGA Championship wasn't given the same love at golf's three other major tournaments. That perception wasn't helped earlier this year when it was announced that beginning in 2019, the event would be moved on the calendar to occupy the spot between The Masters and U.S. Open.

But it turns out the 100th edition of the PGA Championship, at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, was something truly special.

Not only did Brooks Kopeka join an elite group of players by winning the PGA and U.S. Open in the same year, he also did it in record setting fashion - shooting 264, eclipsing the old mark by one stroke.

And while Koepka's name will forever be on the Wanamaker Trophy, the 2018 PGA Championship will be remembered for Tiger Woods' flirting with his 15tth major victory.

Tiger overcame a shaky start Thursday (August 9) and shot three rounds in the 60's Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to finish two shots back. His final round 64 was particularity impressive considering he missed every fairway on the front nine.
