One Last Chance for Coyotes Grab a Win at Home This Season
After making some strides in the Missouri Valley Conference last season, the University of South Dakota football has taken a major step back in 2015.
Coming into Saturday's home finale against Illinois State, the Coyotes are the only winless team in the league, with the current losing streak standing at six games.
That's not to say USD hasn't had their chances.
Earlier this month, the Coyotes played three solid quarters at Youngstown State, only to come up short; and then last week against Western Illinois USD scored late in the second quarter to tie the game at 23 at intermission, only to be outscored 21-6 in the second half.
I asked head coach Joe Glenn about another tough day for his team:
Things don't get any easier this week as #7 Illinois State (8-1) comes to Vermillion with the #1 scoring offense and the top running back in the Missouri Valley, Marshaun Coprich, who averages 145 yards per game on the ground.
It will also be an emotional day for the USD seniors, playing at the DakotaDome for the final time in their careers.
I asked Coach Glenn about the emotions of Senior Day:
Kickoff is 1:00pm Saturday in Vermillion.
The Coyotes close out the regular season at South Dakota State, November 22nd, at 2:00pm.
