Oregon Prepares to Face South Dakota St

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - In five seasons as head coach at Oregon, George Horton has set a high bar.

This season he has the Ducks repeating as both a national seed in the NCAA tournament and a regional host.

Oregon (45-15) will play against South Dakota State (35-22) at PK Park Friday night after Rice (41-17) opens the regional against San Francisco (34-22).

It is Oregon's third appearance in the NCAA tournament since bringing back its baseball program in 2009. It is the Ducks' fifth overall postseason appearance.

Oregon has advanced to the College World Series once, in 1954.
