The New England Patriots have added yet another piece to the puzzle for Tom Brady for the upcoming season.

Chicago has sent tight end Martellus Bennett and a 2016 6th round draft pick to New England in return for a 2016 4th round draft pick.

Bennett had previously been offered to teams earlier in 2014 after he held out in hopes of a new contract. However, a deal never got reached and Bennett played with the Bears.

Reports surfaced at the end of last season that Chicago planned on cutting Bennett but those reports never came true.

Last season Bennett and the Bears never seemed to mesh after a temper tantrum before the Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers and Bennett's lack of involvement in the red-zone offense later in the season.

This comes as no surprise for New England because of the lack of options for pass catchers last season. The Patriots have looked recently to solidify the offense for the aging Brady.

Earlier this week New England traded defensive end Chandler Jones to the Arizona Cardinals for guard Jonathan Cooper and a 2nd round draft pick.
