Paul Allen joined Jeff Thurn on Thursday's edition of Overtime on ESPN 99.1

Allen is the voice of the Minnesota Vikings and host on KFAN in the Twin Cities.

Allen on if Flip Saunders, current President of Basketball Operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves, comes back to coach the team?

"I don't know. You know I, um, in formulating opinions, gut-feeling wise, I'm not as plugged into this organization as I am to the Vikings or as a I used to be. I do not believe Rick Adelman will be back next year. So, I think it's convenient and I think it would work for Flip to slide into that thing, but of late, I got a couple of people that are closer to the organization than I am, telling me that's a long shot and that it would be somebody else. So, I don't exactly what to think, but I would bet this is Adelman's last year with the Wolves."

Allen gives the Minnesota Vikings quarterback situation a grade:

"I don't think it's beating the dead horse because the quarterback position is so important in that league and Vikings are the most popular team in this region. It's super popular and a spot that has not been handled properly. You know Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M had his pro day yesterday and looked really good. Teddy Bridgewater, quarterback from Louisville has some really good moments from his career there. Blake Bortles from Central is a Ben Roethlisberger looking thing, and I think he is going to get drafted pretty high. From where we are now with Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder, I'd give that a C at best. It's average at best. You can win games with Cassel, and in Ponder's first year starting, Christian got the team to the playoffs. Now granted Adrian Peterson and the defense had a lot to do with it, but Christian still had a lot to do with it as quarterback for a 10 win team. So, he's shown you, whether it's conservatively speaking, he can win games, but they need another quarterback in here and they need to hit on one in the draft no matter where it is, eighth overall pick, 40th, middle of the draft, whatever, and give that guy an opportunity to come in here in the offseason do the Vikings what Russell Wilson did in Seattle. From where you come into the offseason like Matt Cassel is going to start, battle Ponder and then we have the new kid. Well, I want the new kid to come in and win. So, I want you to be so right with you took in rounds one, two, three, or four, and the guy comes in and wins. and that's what I am going to be looking for."
