Following the Minnesota Twins successful 2017 campaign, Paul Molitor has been named American League Manager of the Year.

Minnesota finished the regular season 85-77 and earned a AL Wild Card Spot. The team would lose to the Yankees in the Wild Card round 8-4.

The 85-77 record was an improvement from the team's 59-103 record in 2016. Minnesota was the first team to ever make the playoffs after losing 100 games the prior season.

Molitor was given a three-year contract extension with Minnesota following the 2017 season.
