MINNEAPOLIS -- The boot on Nikola Pekovic's injured right ankle has been removed. There's no sign yet of his return to the Minnesota Timberwolves, though.

Coach Rick Adelman said he had "no idea" when the team will have the 6-foot-11, 285-pound center back in the lineup. He's recovering from bursitis, which is inflammation around the joint.

The Wolves have six games in the next nine days before the All-Star break, which will give Pekovic an opportunity for extra rest. Pekovic has sat out of the last three games, two of them losses.

The 28-year-old Pekovic is averaging career highs in points, rebounds and minutes per game.
