In a tragic event last week, Philadelphia Phillies prospect Matt Imhof was struck in the eye after a game by a malfunctioning piece of equipment and this week he lost his eye.

Imhof was struck with a piece of malfunctioning equipment and immediately lost vision in the eye, broke his nose among other injuries.

This week upon the advice from his doctors, Imhof decided to have the surgery to remove the eye.

Last year, ESPN rated Imhof as the 19th best prospect in the Phillies system, however this year he didn't make the top 30 this year.
