RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Rapid City teenage bowler Carter Banning is celebrating a remarkable achievement — back-to-back 300 games.

The Rapid City Journal reports that the odds of rolling one perfect game are about 11,500 to 1. Seventeen-year-old Banning beat the odds in late April by rolling the consecutive perfect games during a local bowling competition. That's 24 straight strikes.

Records show that only six other bowlers in South Dakota have rolled consecutive 300 games. Banning's previous high score had been a 290.

He says, "When it is your day, it's your day."
