The South Dakota State back court is getting some help by way of the Big Ten next season.

The Argus Leader is reporting that Wisconsin point guard George Marshall will enroll in Brookings this month, and will be eligible to join the Jackrabbits beginning in the second semester of the 2014-15 season, after sitting out a year due to NCAA rules.

The Chicago native is 6-feet, 185-pounds and became aware of SDSU thanks to Jacks assistant and former Badger player Joe Krabbenhoft.

The report says Marshall chose SDSU over North Texas and Illinois-Chicago.

He played in all 35 games for Wisconsin last season as a redshirt freshman, averaging 4 points and 1 assist per game.

This season, he played in two games for the Badgers, including the season opener against St. John’s at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.  Marshall played just three minutes of the next game before missing action with a concussion.

Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan announced Marshall's intention on leaving the program December 7th.
