Royal Family Kids Golf Tournament to Benefit Foster Kids Camp
Kid's in the system. That's a frightening statement.
In South Dakota alone there are over 400 children in foster care. Royal Family Kids South Dakota knows the challenges both foster parents and their kids face.
I met up with a golfer recently at one of our sponsored events and he told me about the Royal Tee Golf Tournament. It's on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Willow Run Golf Course. Monies raised will support the Royal Family Kids Camp.
Here's a little bit about the camp:
Royal Family Kids Camp volunteers are specially trained to work with children of abuse and neglect. Our camper to staff ratio is 1:1 and we host approximately 36 campers during our week of camp. Our camp serves children who currently are or have been in foster care in Minnehaha County.
Children receive one on one attention from safe, caring adults. For one week, instead of operating in survival mode, they can be a kid. With tea parties, crafts, woodworking, birthday parties (one of the highlights of RFKC as many children have never had a birthday party, let alone received a birthday present), music, dress up and much more, these kids can feel “normal” and once again dream, believe and find new hope for their future.
