ABERDEEN - A man's rural Langford has been destroyed by fire but he escaped without injury.

The Aberdeen News reports that firefighters were called to the home six miles north and two miles west of Langford about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Langford Volunteer Fire Department Chief Terry Larson says Jon Olson was able to escape after a smoke detector woke him.

Firefighters spent more than two hours battling the blaze. The home was lost but firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading.

Larson says the cause of the fire is under investigation but it may be electrical.
