The New York Jets and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick have agreed on a one-year deal worth $12 million with an additional $3 million in incentives.

Good news for Jets fans and Brandon Marshall since the backup plan for Fitzpatrick is Geno Smith.

The Jets originally offered a three-year deal worth $24 million and guaranteed $16 million but Fitzpatrick was not interested.

Last season Fitzpatrick played in 16 games, threw 31 touchdowns with 15 interceptions and had a quarterback rating of 88 with 3,905 passing yards.
