BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres have recalled forward Kevin Porter and defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the minors as part of a five-player roster shuffle made by the NHL's worst team.

On their way down to AHL Rochester are forward Luke Adam and defensemen Mark Pysyk and Brayden McNabb. The moves were made Tuesday, before the Sabres (7-23-3) hosted the Winnipeg Jets.

The shuffle is part of an ongoing player evaluation being conducted by interim coach Ted Nolan and team president Pat LaFontaine. The two took over last month after coach Ron Rolston and general manager Darcy Regier were fired.

The Sabres are also looking for a spark. They are 2-9-1 in their last 12 games and have scored more than one goal in regulation just twice during that stretch.
