Sanford Pentagon Hosting More Division I Basketball Games in the Future
The Sanford Pentagon was showcased on ESPN's Tip Off Marathon with a game featuring Memphis and Wichita State. That appears to be just the start.
Wichita State defeated Memphis 71-56 in front of a 3,250 sold out crowd. On top of that, the Pentagon received some national publicity.
With the sell out, and how successful the event was, the Sanford Pentagon is looking forward into the future. Eric Larsen, General Manager of the Sanford Pentagon, says more games are in the future.
Larsen was not able to disclose the game that is set for next year. He is awaiting the contract to officially be signed before making the announcement. Larsen says the intention is to have at least one major game per year. It's possible in the future to see a couple of marque games in one year.
The focus now shifts for the Pentagon to another set of college basketball games. SDSU will take on Florida Gulf Coast on November 30th, and USD faces UNLV on December 13th.
