It was an uncommon first half for the South Dakota State University as they trailed for only the second time all year at the half way point but got a good second half defensively from the entire team and beat Middle Tennessee 65-61.

The Sanford Pentagon as you would expect was 99% full of SDSU fans as they played this non conference game in front of 3,200 fans and most of the seats were full inside the Pentagon.

SDSU's Deondre Parks led all scorers with 16 points and was tied for the lead in the game with eight rebounds.

Ian Theisen ended up having a career high in points by adding 13 and the Jacks got 10 points from Mike Daum.

With the win, the Jackrabbits now are 11-3 as they enter Summit League play while the loss drops Middle Tennessee to 7-4.

This is the first of two games in two days at the Sanford Pentagon.  On Monday, the University of South Dakota will play Florida Gulf Coast at 7pm.
