Draft Day for the Sioux Falls Skyforce has passed with 7 more players added to the fold.

With their first round selection, the Miami Heat affiliate took rookie guard/forward Fuquan Edwin of Seton Hall with the 15th pick.  His credentials include Defensive Player of the Year for the Pirates as a Senior.  As a Sophomore, Edwin led the NCAA in steals.  Time will tell if he will fill the mold of last year’s perimeter stopper DeAndre Liggins.

Two picks in the second round netted two more rookies.  Michael Williams, a guard from Cal-State Fullerton came with the 33rd pick overall, then one choice later at number 34 came guard Manny Atkins of Georgia State.

Another first year pro arrived in the third round with pick 46 overall obtained in a trade with the Westchester Knicks.  The pick netted Chadrack Lufile who played collegiately at Wichita State.  Other portions of the trade include guard Andre Barrett who played for the Skyforce in 2013 for the pick and the rights to Brady Morningstar.

Forward Matt Hezekiah was chosen in the fourth round at number 69.  He left South Carolina State last year after putting up double figures in scoring while shooting over 50 percent from the floor during his Junior and Senior years.

Two more guards filled out the Skyforce draft proceedings.  At number 87 in Round 5 guard Ashton Gibbs out of Pittsburgh has played internationally the last two years.  Rookie Chris McNealy of Cal-Irvine was the final choice in Round 6 at the 105th pick.

Camp begins on Monday with an exhibition against the Iowa Energy in Memphis on Saturday November 8.
