SIOUX FALLS - Bond has been set at $20,000 for a Sioux Falls man accused of holding his girlfriend in his apartment for weeks and beating her multiple times.

Fifty-two-year-old Guy Lundgren made his first court appearance on Monday on charges including aggravated kidnapping and assault. He did not enter a plea. He could face life in prison if convicted.

Police allege Lundgren held the 44-year-old woman in his apartment for more than 20 days and beat her, causing bruises and a broken eye socket.

According to KDLT:

When police arrived, they found a 44-year-old woman with injuries to her face including a swollen and bruised eye. The woman reluctantly told police that beginning Jan. 4, on several occassions, Lundgren had pushed and punched her. She told police that she tried to leave the home but Lundgren pulled her back inside.
