The Sioux Falls Police Department has presented awards to three of their employees for services provided in 2012. One is a civilian, two are sworn officers.

Sergeant Loren McManus received the "Supervisor of the Year" award. Sergeant McManus' assignments include: assisting and training new recruits, provides training to assist officers in the handling of domestic violence cases. He is a shift supervisor and serves on the departments honor guard. Additionally, you hear his voice on "The Mix." His radio name is "Adam North." Results Radio/Townsquare Media is proud to have him on our team.

Receiving the "Civilian of the Year" award is Renita Walters. Her job entails providing software training to new and veteran officers, so they can effectively provide services to us.

"Officer of the Year" honors went to Scott VanderVelde. He is described as "tenacious in his pursuit of the worst people Sioux Falls has to offer."
