Sioux Falls Police say a four-day saturation patrol that begins Tuesday will target several types of violations on some heavily-traveled streets in the city.

Lieutenant Jerome Miller says the patrols will run from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. through Friday, with a particular focus on red-light violations:

Miller says officers will target red-light violations because those offenses cause crashes, injuries and property damage.

He says four to six additional officers will work each day during the saturation patrols, which are being funded by a grant from the Office of Highway Safety.
