An athletic forward will get his second chance with the Sioux Falls Skyforce after globetrotting to Egypt and Poland since his last NBADL appearance.

The ‘Force announced via press release on Thursday (January 26) that Markeith Cummings would return to the team. Cummings most recently played for the Skyforce during the 2014-15 season.

What you need to know about Cummings is that he’s a 6-6, 230-pound forward. He joined the Skyforce on March 16, 2015 and averaged 5.6 points and 1.9 rebounds in eight regular season games off the bench and appeared in three playoff games in which he averaged 4.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.

Earlier this year, Cummings averaged 12.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in seven games with Al Ahly Cairo of the Egypt-Superleague while shooting 47.4 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from three-point range and 73.3 percent from the free throw line. He also averaged 10.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in 36 games played (eight starts) for Twarde Pierniki Torun based in Torun, Poland during the 2015-16 season.

Prior to joining the Skyforce, Cummings appeared in 30 total games for the Bakersfield Jam, 19 games for the Westchester Knicks, and 10 games for GlobalPort Batang Pier of the PBA League in which he averaged 28.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists.

Cummings’ first chance to suit up for the Skyforce will come as the team travels to Los Angeles to take on the D-Fenders. His return to the Sanford Pentagon will take place on Saturday, January 28 as the Skyforce take on the Oklahoma City Blue.

Beyond the mechanics of the Cummings addition is the status of Okaro White who has had a front row seat to the current five-game Miami Heat win streak. Two of those wins had White on the floor playing in the closing moments with Dion Waiters drilling long distance bombs to close out the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets respectively.

Starting now until Friday it’s a waiting game for White which would be when the Heat could offer another 10 days with the team. Discounting 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks, an assist and a steal in 27 minutes at Barclays Center is hard to discount.
