At the professional level, you can count on this fact:  every once in a while, the schedule will work against you.  It’s not an excuse, because the goal when a team takes the floor is to win.  In this case, the difficulty was a little bit greater as the Austin Toros used a huge second quarter to roll to a 103-92 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Sunday.

The final margin was 11 points, but the positives for Sioux Falls (21-16) included just 13 turnovers and 32 trips to the free throw line.  Nonetheless, shooting 35 percent from the floor is difficult to overcome.  Seth Tarver led the team in scoring for the second of three games played since being acquired from the Idaho Stampede.  James Mays compiled 14 points and 11 rebounds while Chris Davis added another 14 points.

For the victorious Toros (22-14) JaMychel Green had a huge game with 21 points and 16 rebounds while Chris Roberts had 19 points.  A heavy contribution also came from Rick Jackson who added 16 points and 17 rebounds.  Speaking of Idaho, that’s who the Skyforce will play on Tuesday night at Sioux Falls Arena.  Austin will wait until Wednesday to take the court for a crucial road game against Rio Grande Valley.
