The I-29 rivalry started another chapter on Tuesday night as the Sioux Falls Stampede and Sioux City Musketeers met for game one of the Western Conference playoffs.

In front of 4,665 fans at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, Sioux Falls opened the series with a 5-1 win. The Herd struck quick with a goal from Logan O'Connor 57 seconds into the game, and he managed to score another goal later in the game. Stampede goaltender Steff Lekkas came up huge saving 36 total shots.

Games two and three of the Western Conference Semifinals will take place in Sioux City. Game two is scheduled for Thursday night, while game three is set for Friday night. If a game four is needed, the two teams will return to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Sunday. Game five would take place on Tuesday, April 21 in Sioux City if necessary.
