Each team had a domination game in this series. The deciding game was a tighter affair with the Canton Charge eliminating Sioux Falls 105-95 on Tuesday night.

Canton will next face Fort Wayne in the Eastern Conference Finals starting Thursday. The Western Conference Finals features Santa Cruz and Austin with that series starting Friday.

Through the first half Sioux Falls held control of the scoreboard though not by wide margin. The pivot point came with a Skyforce lead of 51-40 at the 2:43 mark of the second quarter. Canton seized momentum going into the locker room on a 7-0 run. The two teams remained tethered for most of the second half until some desperation for Sioux Falls tilted the balance to the visitors in the final moments.

Skyforce center Khem Birch said Canton’s rebounding made the difference in the second half. “They got better position on us (to get) offensive rebounds. That was a big factor in the game.” The numbers show overall the Charge won the battle of the boards by ten with Birch grabbing 11 caroms with 11 points.”

Now that the season has concluded, Birch noted his progress on how to better utilize his talents. “My I.Q. is better. They taught me a lot. Coach Weber is a great coach and I’m going to take this (experience) and use it as an advantage for next season.”

Scotty Hopson finished his playoff run with another stellar night of 31 points, 5 assists and 3 blocks which you can see below. Larry Drew II filled the sheet with 13 points and 11 assists. Canton’s most consistent performer in the series was James Singleton with another double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Center Alex Kirk (23 points, 11 rebounds) and a resurgent Joe Harris (27 points) were instrumental in the Charge extending their season.
