It hasn’t been just this month, but Keith Benson showed himself a cut above in the month of December.

The NBA Development League bestowed the Sioux Falls Skyforce center with the Player of the Month award for December 2016. Here are the black and white stats over 12 games: 20.3 points, 12 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and while Benson was on the court, Sioux Falls outscored the opponent by 40 points.

Consistency was also a hallmark of the 28-year old’s production as every game during the month featured at least 10 points and 7 rebounds. His most productive game was against Salt Lake City on December 30 with 33 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks in 46 minutes. Against Iowa on December 23, in only 26 minutes Benson amassed 18 points and 18 rebounds. Another noteworthy performance was against Raptors 905 featuring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks.

By the way, November was a pretty good month for Benson, too. He averaged 17.1 points and 9.9 rebounds through the season’s first seven contests. It’s the first Player of the Month for a Skyforce player since Jarnell Stokes did it for the games in March and April of 2016.
