A big day on the road for two of South Dakota State's top players has led to a pair of honors.

Linebacker Christian Rozeboom and quarterback Taryn Christion are the defensive and offensive Players of the Week in the Missouri Valley Conference.

In the eighth-ranked Jackrabbits' 52-24 win at number-14 Western Illinois, Saturday (October 28), Rozeboom collected a team-high ten tackles and also recovered a fumble and picked off as pass. The sophomore from sophomore Sioux Center, Iowa, led a Jackrabbit defensive effort that held Western Illinois to 285 yards of total offense - nearly 150 yards below the Leathernecks' season average.

On the other side of the ball, Christion had a hand in six touchdowns for SDSU, Saturday. The junior from Sioux Falls went 26-of-41 through the air for 386 yards and five scores while running for another. In all, Christion accounted for 423 yards of total offense.

South Dakota State hosts North Dakota State in the annual Dakota Marker game, Saturday (November 4) in Brookings.
