MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Four new champions in Minnesota state high school baseball will emerge next week.

The tournament brackets are set, with seven first-time qualifiers: Parkers Prairie and Andover Legacy Christian Academy in Class 1A, Belle Plaine, East Grand Forks and Maple Lake in Class 2A, North Branch in Class 3A and Blaine in Class 4A.

Play begins Thursday and Friday at locations around the state, with the title games set for June 20 at Target Field. The top seeds are Parkers Prairie in Class 1A, Belle Plaine in Class 2A, Mahtomedi in Class 3A and Wayzata in Class 4A.

This is the first year of the four-class format. Last season's champions were Chanhassen in Class 3A, St. Cloud Cathedral in Class 2A and Woodbury New Life Academy in Class 1A.
