South Dakota State and the University of South Dakota will head into Wednesday's South Dakota Showdown Presented by South Dakota Corn  as the top two teams in the Summit League after both the Jackrabbits and Coyotes won on the road Saturday.

SDSU had six players scored nine points or more in a 74-64 win at Omaha.  Megan Waytashek was a perfect four-for-four from the floor and finshed with 11 points.  Katie Lingle, Gabby Boever, and Hannah Strop each added ten for the Jacks how shot 52 percent from the floor and hit eight three-pointers. Lingle lead the Jacks in rebounding with seven, including four offensive rebounds.

South Dakota State led by three with 8:08 to play in the first half when the Jacks went on a 9-0 run keyed by five points from Boever.  SDSU also scored the final eight points of the half to open up a 15-point lead at the break.

Head Coach Aaron Johnston's team got back in the win column, after falling for the first time in league play this season, last Saturday at home to IUPUI.  The Jacks are now 7-1 in Summit League play with a one game lead over South Dakota.

The Coyotes are the hottest team in the Summit League after winning their fourth straight Saturday, with a 76-56 victory at IUPUI.  USD gave up the first eight points of the game before reeling off 12 straight of their own, with Lisa Loeffler picking up six of those points herself.

South Dakota blew the game open in the final ten minutes of the first half, outscoring the Jaguars 23-8.  Tempestt Wilson scored ten of her game high 26 points during that stretch.

The Coyotes shot a blistering 61 percent for the game and outrebounded IUPUI 38-32. Nicole Seekamp added 16 points and Margaret McCloud 10 for Head Coach Amy Williams team.

USD will be trying to avenge a 72-60 loss to SDSU when the two meet in Vermillion Wednesday night.  In their meeting earlier this month, the Jacks shot 54 percent in the first half to open up a commanding 11-point lead.  South Dakota State took advantage of 16 South Dakota turnovers, converting them into 19 points.  Ashley Eide led the Jacks that night with 22 points.  Tempestt Wilson led the Coyotes with 19.

When these two teams played at the DakotaDome last season, USD won in overtime 59-53.  Tipoff Wednesday is 7:05pm.
