As we reach the third weekend of play in Summit League women’s basketball, things look very familiar at the top of the standings.

South Dakota State, the defending Summit League regular season post season tournament champ, is the lone unbeaten team at 4-0.  The Jackrabbits are on the road today playing at Ft. Wayne.  SDSU is led by the Summit League Player of the Month Ashley Eide.  The former Washington High School standout is averaging 15 points per game and has led her team in scoring eight times in 17 games this season, including five of the last six.

IUPUI and South Dakota each only have one loss.  The Jaguars have the highest scoring offense in the league, thanks to a balanced attack with a trio of players averaging in double figures (DeAirra Goss – 14 points per game, Kerah Nelson – 13, and Katie Comello 10).  IUPUI is off today.  The Coyotes are led by Australian import Nicole Seekamp’s 16 points per game.  USD is also the number one team in the Summit League in rebounding, grabbing on average nine more rebounds than their opponents per game.  The Coyotes are at last place Kansas City today.
