After pushing their record to a perfect 4-0 after the first two weeks of Summit League play, the South Dakota State women get a little bit of a break this week, just one game, and a short road trip at that, with a quick bus ride to Fargo Saturday afternoon.

The four wins in the first two weeks give the Jackrabbits sole possession of first place, but Head Coach Aaron Johnston says they're still a long way from winning a championship:

Last week started with a last second win at Western Illinois, as Steph Paluch's layup with :03 left gave SDSU the 1-point win.

But it was another slow start for the Jacks.  SDSU was just 2-of-9 with five turnovers in the game's first 6:30, trailing by as many as 7 in the first half:

Saturday in Omaha, the Jacks played from in front at the start, opening with the first seven points of the game, and then withstanding a couple of Maverick runs to win by 14.

Coach Johnston on his team's defensive play at Omaha, limiting the Mavs to just 4 shot attempts in the first 5:30 and 38% shooting in the first half:

With just one game this week, things can slow down a little bit for the Jacks, who play Bison team Saturday that's won just once in the last ten games.

Tipoff is 2:00pm Saturday afternoon in Fargo.
