On the strength of a five-run seventh inning, the St. Paul Saints overtook the Sioux Falls Canaries, handing the Birds a 7-5 loss on Tuesday afternoon at Midway Stadium.

The Sioux Falls Canaries had a six-run lead in the sixth inning on Sunday night, but they could not stave off an El Paso Diablos comeback, losing 12-10 at Cohen Stadium.

An eighth-inning lead slipped through the hands of the Sioux Falls Canaries on Saturday night, leading to a 5-4 loss to the Amarillo Sox.

Brandon native Jack Van Leur will be back in the Sioux Falls Pheasants’ bullpen this summer. The lefty reliever signed to play with the Birds for a second straight season.

Jack Van Leur became his own player to be named later Tuesday when the Winnipeg Goldeyes sent the Brandon native back to the Sioux Fall Pheasants to complete a late-season trade between the two clubs.
