SIOUX FALLS, SD -- Pine Ridge forced overtime on Thursday and lost to Tea Area 70-69 in double overtime at the South Dakota Class A boys basketball tournament.

Jordan Fechner's free throws with 18 seconds left proved to be the game-winners after giving the Titans (16-8) a 70-66 lead. Fechner had 13 points.

The Thorpes (20-3) got within 70-69 but Jacob Dreamer's long 3-pointer as time ran out missed the mark.

Jeff LeBeau had 20 points, Jacob Brown 15 and Dreamer 13 for Pine Ridge.

Tarin Smallfield had 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Titans. Gunnar Ensz had 12 points.

Ki-Jana Grey Grass' layup with 10 seconds left in regulation tied it at 54-54 and Tea Area turned the ball over as time ran out.

MADISON 67, TRI-VALLEY 38
SIOUX FALLS, SD -- Unbeaten Madison outscored Tri-Valley 21-7 in the first quarter and coasted to a 67-38 win Thursday in the first round of the South Dakota Class A boys basketball tournament.

Trae VandeBerg provided the offense for the Bulldogs (23-0) with 33 points. VandeBerg was 13-for-17 from the field and 4-for-4 from the line. He had three of Madison's five 3-pointers.

VandeBerg was the only Madison player in double figures, but nine players scored points. Rush Milne had nine points and seven rebounds.

Nick Buchmann, Brandon Boomsma and Joseph Newman had six points each for Tri-Valley (12-12).

SISSETON 50, SIOUX VALLEY 37
SIOUX FALLS, SD -- Sisseton took an early lead and pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Sioux Valley 50-37 on Thursday at the South Dakota Class A boys basketball tournament.

The Redmen (18-5) outscored the Cossacks 13-7 in the fourth quarter to win going away.

Sisseton got 23 points and seven rebounds from Jordan Cornelius. He was 12-for-13 from the line, and the Redmen made 24 of 30 free throws. Wyatt Youngblom had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Tayt Vincent was the only Sioux Valley (19-4) player in double figures, with 12 points.

ST. THOMAS MORE 41, CHEYENNE-EAGLE BUTTE 25
SIOUX FALLS, SD -- St. Thomas More used a balanced offense and tough defense to beat Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 41-25 at the South Dakota Class A boys basketball tournament on Thursday.

Isaac Kortemeyer had 11 points and nine rebounds and Caden Skinner added 10 points for the Cavaliers (17-6).

St. Thomas More shot 43 percent while holding Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (19-4) top just 24 percent. The Braves scored more than six points in a quarter just once.

Creighton LeBeau had 12 points and five rebounds for the Braves, who made just one of 10 3-point attempts. Jeffrie Shaving had nine points.
