Nine-year-old Addie Rodriguez and her cheerleading squad was set to perform at a football game at Central Catholic High School in San Antonio.

The routine was for the fathers to join the squad down on the field and to have the fathers hoist them up on their shoulders. But Addie’s father wasn’t there. That's because he is serving in the Airforce and is stationed in California.

Addie was just standing there in tears until someone came to the rescue. Matthew Garcia, a senior at Central Catholic High School hopped the fence to help her out during the performance. Addie told Fox 29 in San Antonio:

“I just felt like somebody saved my life. I thought that's so nice, especially since my dad's serving for us.”
