Disappointment is bigger in Texas. All five Texas teams that made into the 68-team NCAA Tournament field were eliminated on Thursday.

Texas, Baylor, SMU, Stephen F. Austin and Texas Southern all were beaten on the tournament's first full day of action.

Texas is the first state to have five schools lose on the same day. The previous record was four, also by Texas, in 2010.

The brutal day for the Lone Star State started No. 3 seed Baylor losing 57-56 after Georgia State scored the game's last 13 points.

Larry Brown's SMU squad lost to 11th-seeded UCLA, 60-59 loss to UCLA.

Texas lost 56-48 to Butler, Stephen F. Austin fell 57-50 to Utah, and Texas Southern was beaten 93-72 by Arizona.
