Long-time Minnesota Twins manager Tom Kelly will have his statue added to Target Field on Friday prior to the Twins/Tigers game.

Kelly was the team's manager from 1986-2001, and helped lead the Twins to World Series titles in 1987 and 1991. He already has a spot in the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame, and has his number ten jersey retired. Now he will have another honor as the team unveils a statue outside of Target Field. Kelly will be the 8th member of the franchise given a statue outside the stadium.

The Twins have previously honored Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, Kirby Puckett, Calvin Griffith, Carl and Eloise Pohlad, Tony Oliva and Kent Hrbek with a golden statue.

Kelly will be honored on the plaza of Target Field as part of the pregame ceremonies of Friday's game.
