Tony Romo gave up football last week and he already is back to professional sports.

This time he's going to be in the NBA.

That's right, the former NFL QB is now off to the Dallas Mavericks for a day. is reporting that the Dallas Mavericks plan to make Romo a Maverick for a day in their final home game of the season this Tuesday.

According to that report:

The Mavericks plan to treat him like an actual player on the roster for the day, sources said, even though Romo won't actually play in the game. He last played competitive basketball in high school in Wisconsin.

Since Seth Curry had a season ending injury, the Mavs have a roster spot open and owner Mark Cuban has been talking all week about a "pass first player" to fill that spot and apparently Romo is the guy.

A ticket that went from luke warm at best, now is a hot commodity in the city of Dallas as Tony Romo will be in a Dallas Mavericks uniform.
