DENVER (AP) - Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was held out of the Colorado Rockies' lineup Tuesday night as a precaution after an MRI revealed minor swelling in his left groin.

Tulowitzki missed most of last season with a groin injury that required surgery to remove scar tissue. Rockies athletic trainer Keith Dugger said this injury is in the same area but is unrelated.

Tulowitzki said he thinks he tweaked his left groin lunging for the first base bag in Los Angeles on Wednesday. He then scored from first on Michael Cuddyer's double.

Tulowitzki missed the Rockies' next game before playing two over the weekend.

Manager Walt Weiss says Tulowitzki was available to pinch hit against the New York Yankees on Tuesday and he hopes to have him back in the lineup Wednesday night.
