With the opening of the 2016 football season a little more than 50 days away, South Dakota State's new 19,340 seat football facility is really starting to look the part, with the installation of the playing surface.

Crews at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium began the process last week, piecing together patches of the soy-based AstoTurf. Installation should be done by month's end.

Dykhouse Stadium opens with the 'Jacks Bash' kickoff event, Thursday, September 8, with a concert featuring country music stars Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, and Lee Bice.

The Jackrabbit football team will play their first game at the stadium Saturday, September 10, with a 6:00 PM game against Drake.
