Separate single-vehicle crashes took two lives in South Dakota this week.

The Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Matthew Alan Braun of Custer died early Tuesday when a vehicle he was a passenger in crashed on U.S. Highway 385, around 14 miles south of Deadwood.

The Colorado man who was driving left the scene but was arrested later for vehicular homicide and hit-and-run resulting in death.

Then early Wednesday, a McMinnville, Oregon man died in a rollover on State Highway 37, one mile north of Ferney in Brown County.

Troopers say 58-year-old Steven Carl Lawson's SUV rolled three times after he ove-rcorrected and then skidded.

His passenger, a Wanblee woman, was flown to an Aberdeen hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
