Josh Samman has passed away at the age of 28. His last professional fight was in Sioux Falls at UFC Fight Night 91.

We had the chance to talk to Josh prior to his fight Tim Boetsch at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Josh was a humble guy, and one that the world lost too soon.

He was one of the highlights that day on Overtime. He had a great sense of humor and knew that it was a blessing for him to be in the UFC.

It was a long road for Samman. After 11 professional fights, Samman was called to the UFC to participate in The Ultimate Fighter 17 and trained under Jon Jones. Samman lost to eventual Ultimate Fighter winner Kevin Gastelum in the semi-finals.

His UFC career didn't end there. He earned two straight performance of the night awards for his wins against Eddie Gordon (UFC 181) and Caio Magalhaes (The Ultimate Fighter Finale: America Top Team vs Blackzilians). Josh lost to Tamdan McCroy at UFC on Fox 17, and then lost in his last fight to Boetsch in Sioux Falls in the second round.

Samman was found unresponsive in an apartment in south Florida at the end of September. He remained in a coma for about a week before passing away on October 5th.
