The USF men and women's basketball team begin a four-game homestead Friday night at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls. The men and women hit the home stretch with six games remaining before the Northern Sun Conference tournament.

The women are in sixth place in the NSIC South Division, and hold a 11-9 (overall), 8-8 (conference) record. This weekend, the Cougars women host Minot State Friday night at 6 p.m. and Mary at 4 p.m. Saturday.

They are coming off a 82-70 record at Bemidji State last Saturday. USF and Bemidji State went into overtime, and the Cougars women held them scoreless en route to their eighth NSIC win. Junior Laura Johnson led the Cougars with a season-high, 24 points, and senior Alyssa Rushton scored 23 points. Johnson also added 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season.

USF is 12th in scoring offense (63.3), and eighth in scoring defense (63.3) in the NSIC. They are 15th in field goal percentage (38%), and seventh in field goal percentage defense (38%). In three-point field goal percentages, the Cougars are fourth (34%), and first in three-point field goal percentage defense (27%).

The Cougars Laura Johnson is 16th in the NSIC in scoring, (13.1 ppg), and seventh in rebounding (8.3). Johnson and Bailey Bouman are fifth and sixth in three-point field goal percentage (41%). Johnson is also third in defensive rebounds with 6.8 per game and first in minutes played with 35.6 per game.

The fun stat for the Cougars women is when they score at least 70 points, they are 8-0.

Meanwhile, for the men, they host Minot State tonight at 8 p.m. and Mary at 6 p.m. Saturday as well. The Cougars are in seventh place in the NSIC South Division, and hold a 4-12 (conference), and 8-12 (overall) record.
