Many new looks for student athletes this fall at the University of Sioux Falls.

Of course, the Stewart Center has seen renovations with a "new" floor and some "new" seating.

Tuesday, the school unveiled a new helmet the football team will be sporting this fall on the gridiron.

The beginning of July, USF officially became a part of the  Northern Sun Intercollegaite Conference  along with Minot State University (Minot, S.D.).  The two schools will begin to participate in the NSIC in the 2012-13 academic season.

But the changes and good news for USF continued this summer and was formally accepted into the NCAA Division II ranks, successfully completing the three-year transition from the NAIA.

Most of the university's athletic programs will compete in the Northern Sun conference this coming season. The men's soccer team competes in the Great Northwest conference. All teams will be eligible for NCAA postseason play and awards.
