SIOUX FALLS, SD -- Augustana tallied 46 kills in three sets to sweep Minot State on Saturday afternoon.  The Vikings improve to 11-5, 5-2 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action and the Beavers drop to 4-13, 0-7 in NSIC competition.

The Vikings faced a 4-6 deficit but used three Minot State errors and a service ace from Marissa Johnson for a seven-point run to thwart and chance of a Beaver victory and won the set 25-15. Holly Hafemeyer smashed six kills in the first set.

The second set was neck-and-neck before the Vikings broke an 8-8 tie with 11 of 10 points and cruised to victory 25-17.  Marissa Johnson assisted on 14 kills and Courtney Ysker drilled eight of them in the second set.

Augustana was confronted by a strong start by the Beavers, and were down 8-10 before finishing on a 17-5 run to close out the match.  Taylor Hrdlichka notched four kills in the final stanza and Grace Sanders scooped up six more digs in the third set.

Ysker finished with 14 kills and a career-high .464 hitting percentage.  Holly Hafemyer tallied 11 kills for the match and Hrdlichka finished with ten total.

Johnson assisted on 31 kills and compiled 11 digs for her first collegiate double-double.  Sanders notched three service aces, and Johnson and Julia Witt each finished with three.

The Vikings now head on the road to Concordia-St. Paul for a match on Oct. 5 beginning at 7 p.m.
