SPEARFISH, SD -- Augustana won its fifth match in a row and finished the Blacks Hills State Tournament a perfect 4-0 with its sweep over Chadron State Saturday afternoon.  It was pure domination for the Vikings holding the Eagles to a .000 attack percentage in the 25-14, 25-12, 25-8 victory.

The first set was all Vikings after an even start from both teams; Taylor Hrdlichka and Courtney Ysker led Augustana to an easy set win.  Hrdlichka had five of her nine kills in the first set and YSker smashed four of her six.  Wallerich seemed to dig everything that Chadron State hit, with 11 digs.

After trading kills and errors, the score was tied 9-9 in the second set, but Augustana closed on a 16-3 run and finished Chadron State 25-12.  Jordan Spatenka came alive and knocked six kills to lead the offense for the Vikings

The third set was a blowout from the start.  Holly Hafemeyer dropped four kills and a couple blocks, while Spatenka, Hrdlichka, Brooke Lewko, and Megan Bezdicek all had three kills each.  The Vikings hit an error free .727 attack percentage in the third set, a high for the season.

Marissa Johnson dished out 35 of the 38 assists for the Vikings, but the defense stole the show.

Hafemeyer had three solo blocks and two block assists on the match for a team total of seven total blocks.  The Vikings held the Eagles to -.107 and -.115 attack percentages in the second and third sets, respectively.  Chadron State's overall attack percentage of .000 ties the Vikings' season best set earlier this season.

Augustana volleyball returns home to begin Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play against Upper Iowa Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
