It's officially Teddy Bridgewater time in Minnesota, and this time it isn't because of a controversy. Starting quarterback Matt Cassel has been placed on the season ending injured reserve.

Cassel was injured early in the game against the Saints last week. It was revealed that he suffered fractures in his foot. He will not be able to return for the rest of the season.

The Vikings will now move on to their quarterback of the future in Bridgewater. Last week, Bridgewater threw 12-20 for 150 yards while also helping with the rush. He will make his first NFL start this upcoming weekend against Atlanta at home.

Christian Ponder will now be the 2nd string quarterback for the Vikings, and the team also went out and re-acquired McLeod Bethel Thompson from free agency.
